Day One
I was fortunate enough to travel to Amsterdam with JTA travel. After an early morning flight with KLM airlines, we arrived in Amsterdam bright and early.
We then had a tour of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol which amazed me how large the airport is!
We then headed to the hotel we were staying at for the night which was the NH Schiller hotel. In a taxi from the airport, it took approximately 25 minutes to get to the hotel. This is a 4-star hotel with bright modern and recently renovated rooms. The location of this hotel is on the edge of Rembrandt Square in the center of Amsterdam. Outside of the front of the hotel is a tram line running through various parts of Amsterdam, this was a really easy way to get around Amsterdam efficiently.
After we settled in at the hotel we headed into central Amsterdam where we dined at the famous restaurant ‘The Grasshopper’ which had an amazing atmosphere to it as well as great food! After this we then got to explore central Amsterdam at night-time.
Day Two
On day two we took the tram into central Amsterdam in which we then hoped onto a river cruise. This is a great way to see Amsterdam and travel through all the canals taking in the beautiful buildings and scenery Amsterdam has, it was also a nice way to learn about the history of Amsterdam which the tour guide talked us through.
We then explored more of Amsterdam city before we had to head back to the airport. When we got to the airport JTA travel had kindly booked us all into the KLM Crown Lounge. The lounge was very spacious and had plenty of food options to suit everyone’s dietary requirements. This was a relaxing way to end a full-on trip! I really enjoyed visiting Amsterdam and I would definitely visit again to fit in everything there is to do there.
