What a wonderful trip to experience the Emilia Romagna region of Italy with Typically Italian.
Day 1: We enjoyed a walking city tour of Bologna (the Fat City )with lunch in a local restaurant, good job we did over 15000 steps! Then onto the Grand Hotel Cesenatico, 5-star luxury hotel on the Cesenatico canal port, a truly grand experience, for which we stayed for 2 nights.
Day 2: We travelled to Rimini for a Guided Tour visiting the beautiful old town and the bustling beach area for where we visited Grand Hotel; Rimini – symbol of the Dolce Vita and place of Fellini’s imagination par excellence (was a favourite for Princess Dianna to holiday with William and Harry). Then onto Santaracangelo an ancient medieval village followed by pasta making lesson (glad I didn’t have to eat it!).
Day 3: We visited the city of Bertinoro (town of wine) and the Balcony of Romonga, after which we continued to Forlimpopoli for lunch at
A museum which is also a restaurant, library and cooking school. This is Casa Artusi, a center of gastronomic culture in Forlimpopoli, dedicated to the art of Italian home cooking. This polifunctional space, located in the town’s ancient Chiesa dei Servi complex, is named after Pellegrino Artusi, the Forlimpopoli born writer and gastronome, widely considered the father of Italian cooking. After lunch we travelled to Ravenna for a guided tour with a visit to a mosaic workshop.
What wonderful 3 days, cannot wait to return.
